Gabeba Baderoon, associate professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, and African Studies. Surround yourself in visual and verbal imagery while Penn State poets, storytellers, and other literary friends read their latest work in a feast for the eyes and ears. Gabeba Baderoon is the author of A hundred silences, which was a finalist for the University of Johannesburg Prize and the Olive Schreiner Award; The Dream in the Next Body; and a translated volume titled The Silence Before Speaking. She received the DaimlerChrysler Award for South African Poetry in 2005 and is at work on a new collection, Axis and Revolution.
